SendNeo Deliverability Guide
Deliverability guide
Good delivery starts with permission, authentication, and steady behavior. SendNeo adds automatic protections so one bad address or campaign does not damage an entire account.
Automatic guardrails
- Hard-bounce and complaint addresses are suppressed for the whole account.
- A broadcast pauses when bounce rate exceeds 2% or complaint rate exceeds 0.08%.
- An account is paused for review at 5% bounces or 0.3% complaints.
- Every broadcast includes one-click unsubscribe headers using RFC 8058
List-UnsubscribeandList-Unsubscribe-Post. - Double opt-in is on by default.
- Imports drop invalid, role, disposable, and duplicate addresses and preserve earlier unsubscribes.
These rules protect recipients and your sending reputation. A pause is a signal to inspect the list and message, not a reason to keep retrying the same audience.
Gmail and Yahoo expectations
For bulk mail, publish SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, use a consistent From domain, and make unsubscribe easy. One-click unsubscribe must work without requiring a login or an email reply. Keep the spam complaint rate below 0.3% and aim for below 0.1% so small changes do not create a sudden delivery problem.
Authentication is necessary but does not make an unwanted list acceptable. Send only to people who asked for the mail, identify the sender accurately, and honor an unsubscribe quickly.
Authenticate before you warm up
Verify your domain in Domains, publish all three DKIM CNAME records, configure the custom MAIL FROM records, and start DMARC at p=none. Review reports, then move to quarantine and eventually reject once legitimate senders align consistently.
Use a mail subdomain such as mail.example.com when possible. Keep the visible From address stable so recipients recognize it.
Warm up deliberately
Start with the people most likely to engage: recent subscribers and customers who expect transactional mail. Increase volume in steps rather than switching from a small stream to a large imported audience overnight. Watch bounce, complaint, unsubscribe, and reply signals after each step. If any signal rises, stop increasing volume and clean up before continuing.
Keep transactional messages and broadcasts in their intended lanes. SendNeo keeps both in one account, but a broadcast can pause while a receipt or confirmation continues under the critical-mail allowance.
Keep the list clean
Use double opt-in for new signups. Remove invalid addresses before import, do not re-add prior unsubscribes, and suppress hard bounces. Review role addresses and disposable domains when they do not fit the audience. Ask inactive subscribers whether they still want the newsletter before removing them; do not send repeated re-engagement mail to people who never asked for it.
Include a visible unsubscribe link and your postal address in every marketing message. Keep the subject and From identity truthful. Turn open and click tracking on only when it answers a clear question; tracking is off by default, and Apple Mail Privacy Protection makes open counts unreliable.
New-account review
New accounts begin in review. Until a quick human review usually completed within one business day, a live key can send only to your own verified team email addresses. Test keys work fully. This step keeps the shared reputation clean for everyone and gives you time to verify DNS, code, and consent before outside delivery.
If review pauses an account, stop the affected traffic, inspect recent recipients and content, and contact support with the facts. Do not create another account to work around a review.
Measure useful signals
Use GET /usage for account totals and webhooks for email.delivered, email.bounced, email.complained, and email.failed. For newsletters, also watch unsubscribes and replies. Delivery is a better first question than opens, and a complaint or unsubscribe deserves more attention than a single click.
A quiet, permission-based list with correct authentication is the foundation. SendNeo's controls help contain mistakes, but no provider can turn an unwanted list into wanted mail.
